Abide Living Water Challenge for Valentine’s Day

For the past 18 years, my husband has never missed sending me roses on Valentine’s Day. As much as I love and appreciate them, I want to start something new this year. I want to challenge 48 husbands, wives and significant others with the Abide Living Water Challenge. I want to encourage loving couples across America to forfeit their roses in an effort to supply clean living water to those in need.

Clean water is a necessity and one we often take for granted because as long as we pay our water bill, it’s always supplied to us, right? But what about those that don’t have access to clean water? That would be 750 million people in the world, and more than 840,000 of those people die each year from a water-related disease. Even more horrifying? A child dies every minute due to disease stemming from unclean water.

Good news though: we can stop this cycle of death with each new water well we drill and build. Life Outreach International‘s 2015 goal of 500 wells is ambitious and has a big budget – $2.4 million – so it’s vital that we get a good head start while it’s still the beginning of the year. The average cost to drill a new well this year will be $4,800, but these wells are capable of serving 1000 villagers, meaning that for as little as $4.80, you can have a hand in providing a child water for life!

Trust me when I say that to those who thirst for a clean cup of water, your love and generosity WILL make a difference! So, instead of spending money on beautiful roses this year, spread the love by providing clean water. Of course, you can always do both! Even better for you to give your partner the roses when they least expect it because showing your significant other you love them shouldn’t just be reserved for one day of the year.

If you’re ready to forfeit your roses on February 14th, join my husband and I in the Abide Living Water Challenge and support James and Betty Robinson with Life International – Water for LIFE. Click the link to donate your roses and let them know that Beverly with Abide Family Blessings challenged you to do more than smell God’s beautiful roses!

The gift you give today can help deliver a blessing that will last for years to come. See for yourself. One well can serve up to 1000 people, and that means…

Gifts of $48 will help provide clean water for 10 children.
Gifts of $72 will help provide clean water for 15 children.
Gifts of $144 will help provide clean water for 30 children.

So what do you think? Are you in for the Abide Living Water Challenge?
